Social Media and Communications Volunteer (St Neots)
St Neots Foodbank is looking for a volunteer to help develop and manage its social media presence on sites including Instagram and Facebook. This role will support the promotion of events, raise awareness of our work and help grow followers.
This opportunity is ideal for someone interested in social media, marketing, or communications who wants to gain experience while supporting a community-focused organisation.
St Neots Foodbank was founded and is managed by trustees from the town's churches, and we welcome applications from any volunteer who will champion our vision, values and principles.
Your Role Includes:
- Creating regular innovative, engaging, and relevant social media posts that reflect our campaigns, key activities, events, and requests for support
- Encouraging followers to engage, reshare and tag St Neots Foodbank
- Responding to messages and comments as required to support the service we provide
- Using ideas such as behind-the-scenes content, testimonials, throwbacks and themed posts
- Following, resharing, and liking posts from our key audiences, ensuring our accounts remain active
You'll Bring:
- An interest in, and understanding of, social media and digital content
- Creativity and ideas for engaging posts and stories, with good attention to detail
- Reliability and ability to post consistently
- Ability to operate in a professional manner when communicating online and maintain professional boundaries
- Understand the need for confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection and the ability to volunteer within our policies and guidelines

Time commitment: Approximately 2 hours weekly
When: Hours are flexible over the week. Most of the role can be done remotely, but we would encourage you to visit the foodbank to understand how it works and meet other volunteers.
