Volunteer warehouse manager (Warehouse Manager South Belfast Foodbank)
You'll play a key role in ensuring the warehouse runs smoothly and waste is kept to a minimum. As well as your strong organisational skills you’ll be a great people person, confidently leading a team of volunteers to manage stock levels and complete regular stock audits. You’ll be self-motivated and support the food bank manager, playing a key role in liaising with a diverse range of contacts who can support you in your aims.
Where: Unit 4 and 1, 23 Sunwich Street, BT6 8HR, Belfast
When: At a time that suits you, but preferably during office hours and during the current warehouse shifts – these are on Wednesday between 12:00-15:00 and Thursdays between 10:00-12:00 Time commitment: 3-4 hours weekly.

Overview of the role: Overseeing the smooth running of the warehouse and coordinating volunteering activities. Overseeing stock management within the food bank. Overseeing the various teams of volunteers.
Key tasks • Making sure the weekly warehouse teams of volunteers are working effectively and following warehouse procedures. • To ensure all incoming and out-going food stock is checked, weighed and recorded correctly and timely in the various folders. • Managing the production and storage of our EFBs (Emergency Food Parcels) ensuring we have a good stock of EFBs for the foodbank operations. • Ensuring volunteers are following Health and Safety guidance, Manual Handling training and the other policies and procedures related to the running of the food bank. • Reporting regularly to the foodbank manager on a weekly basis any issues, concerns or risks that arise. • Doing weekly and monthly health and safety checks, testing alarms and checking vermin traps etc • Overseeing the general upkeep of the warehouse and to make the management team aware of mess and spills and any untidy areas. • Undertaking a weekly stock-take count and passing this onto the SBFB management team
