Food bank centre helper (Food Packer PENGE)
Location: The Salvation Army 172–176 Maple Rd, Penge, London SE20 8JB
Hours: Every Monday, 10:00 – 13:00
About the Role We are looking for a friendly and caring volunteer to join our team as a Centre Packer. In this role, you will help prepare food parcels for people visiting our foodbank. You’ll work from our packing lists and make sure each parcel is packed with care. You will be part of a supportive team, and we’ll give you full training. There is also the chance to learn more about the computer side of serving clients if you’d like.
What You’ll Do Pack food parcels carefully using our packing lists. Support and assist other volunteers when needed. Offer a warm and welcoming presence to visitors. Help maintain a friendly, respectful environment. Occasionally help with simple tasks like checking vouchers or preparing drinks.
What We’re Looking For We’d love to hear from people who are: Friendly, kind, and approachable. Able to follow instructions and work well with others. Patient, attentive, and caring when packing parcels. Respectful and committed to treating all visitors with dignity. No experience is needed,just a willingness to help. Full training will be given.
