Welcome Team Volunteer

Are you friendly, approachable, and passionate about helping others? We are looking for Welcome Team Volunteers to join our Foodbank team and help create a warm, welcoming, and dignified experience for everyone who visits us.

As a Welcome Team Volunteer, you will be the first person our clients meet when they arrive at the foodbank. This role is incredibly important, as many people who visit us may be experiencing difficult circumstances and can feel anxious or uncertain. Your warm welcome, friendly conversation, and reassuring presence can help put people at ease and ensure they feel respected, valued, and supported from the moment they walk through the door.

You will greet clients as they arrive, provide them with a raffle ticket to help manage the order of appointments, and offer tea, coffee, and refreshments while they wait. You will help maintain a calm and welcoming atmosphere and support the smooth flow of clients through the session before they meet with one of our volunteer assessors to discuss their needs and arrange their food parcel.

This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys meeting people and wants to make a direct difference in their local community. Often, a smile and a friendly welcome can mean just as much as the practical support we provide.

Commitment Required

We are looking for volunteers who can make a regular commitment to this role. Consistency is important, as our Foodbank relies on a dependable volunteer team to provide the best possible experience for clients and ensure sessions run smoothly.
