Centre Stock & Set-Up Volunteer

Location: United Reformed Church, 20 Widmore Road, Bromley, BR1 1RY Day and Time: Thursdays, 10.45am – 2.30pm

Role Overview

We are looking for a practical, reliable volunteer to help prepare the foodbank before each session and pack everything away afterwards. This role is essential in ensuring the centre is well organised, fully stocked, and ready to welcome clients.

Working alongside the volunteer team, you will set up the food distribution area by bringing food crates out from storage, arranging them neatly so items are easy to access throughout the session, and packing everything away safely at the end of the day.

Key Responsibilities Set up the foodbank before the session by bringing food crates from storage. Organise and arrange stock in a clear and accessible way, making it easy for volunteers to select items throughout the day. Monitor stock levels during the session and restock tables as needed. Keep the food distribution area tidy and well organised. Pack away food crates and equipment at the end of the session, returning everything safely to storage. Work with the wider volunteer team to ensure the session runs smoothly. Skills and Qualities Organised and practical with good attention to detail. Happy carrying out physical tasks as part of a team. Comfortable lifting and moving food crates throughout the session. Reliable and able to work independently when required.
