Community Champion (Community Events Volunteer)

Proactive positive communication ensures that not only is the food bank supported by the Community but that the Community knows that the Foodbank is there to support them. As the Community Champion you will engage with the community at events to share the message of the food bank.

Key Responsibilities Source and attend local events i.e. food festivals, church and school fairs, supermarket collections and other events. Develop relationships with local businesses, schools and community groups.
Coordinate and schedule food drive activities with participating organisations. Provide regular updates, both written and verbal, to the Leeds North and West team on scheduled events, including key outcomes and results.

Represent the food bank professionally when engaging with all business and community partners.

Key Skills & Experience

Strong verbal communication skills with a confident and friendly manner. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain professional relationships. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Passion for community work and supporting charitable initiatives.
