**Why we want you **

Our vision is for a UK without the need for food banks. As a Community Campaigner volunteer, you will actively participate in campaigning for change alongside the local community and those who work, volunteer, and visit the food bank. These campaigns, both local and national, will bring together and unite the local community to effect change, influence decision makers and make a difference for the people we support. In this vital role, you will help us raise the profile of the food bank and highlight the everyday challenges that people visiting the food bank are facing.

**Why volunteer with us **

Volunteering is a fantastic way for you to be involved in your local community and volunteers are at the heart of all that we do as a food bank. The role of volunteers dedicating their time and skills to the support of people in crisis will continue to be critical as we work to fulfil our vision of seeing a UK without the need for food banks.

**Support and personal development  **

You will be given all the required training and provided with ongoing support and development opportunities. There will also be support available from the Trussell Trust Team. Training for this role will vary depending on your experience. You will also have a main contact at the food bank throughout your time volunteering with us.

This role can involve volunteering from home; however, you will be required to spend some time in the food bank to understand how the food bank operates and to connect with other volunteers and staff.

**How to apply   **

Whatever your background we want to make sure you are supported, empowered, and enjoy your time volunteering with us. We know that having volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds, and with varying experiences, can help to make what we do as effective as possible. As such, we welcome all applicants regardless of age, religion or beliefs, disability, ethnic background, gender reassignment, sex, or sexual orientation. We also encourage those with lived experiences of poverty to apply.
