Tesco Collection Volunteer (Wimbledon)

Trussell supports a network of over 420 food banks to provide a minimum of three days’ emergency food and support to people experiencing hardship in the UK. In 2023/24, we supplied over 3.1 million three-day emergency food parcels to people facing hardship and more than 1.1 million of these went to children.

It has never been so critical that food banks are able to support those in need, and with the support of our fantastic partner Tesco, you will give your local food bank a boost in food, funding, and awareness that will help us carry out our vision to end the need for food banks in the UK.

Key tasks

• Greeting customers
• Offering guidance and leaflets on the best items to donate
• Engaging with customers to raise awareness about the food bank
• Receiving food donations
• Thanking customers and explaining where their donation is going
• Sorting food ready for delivery back to the food bank
• Loading and unloading the collection van.

About you

• Comfortable approaching people with a food donation ask
• Positive, friendly, and enthusiastic
• Motivated to get involved in your community.
