Trustee (Trustee with responsibility for Safeguarding.)

Our food bank provides emergency food and compassionate, practical support to people in crisis, while campaigning for a UK without the need for food banks. Without our volunteers, selflessly donating their time, we simply would not be able to support the thousands of people in crisis.

As a Trustee you will play a vital role to our food bank ensuring that we are meeting the demand for our services, providing help and support to people in crisis in the local community. As well as providing strategic direction for the charity.

Food banks have a duty of care towards everyone who interacts with them and have a duty to deal with safeguarding issues which arise. As the Trustee responsible for Safeguarding, in conjunction with the Strategic Director (Designated Safeguarding Lead) you will review processes and procedures to ensure they are as effective as possible.

Every food bank must have a safeguarding policy which must be reviewed by the trustees annually and recorded in the meeting minutes. It is the responsibility of the trustees to create and manage this policy.
