Driver Buddy (Driver's Assistant)

Southwark Foodbank is looking for a committed Van Assistant to support our food collections and deliveries across the borough. You’ll play a vital role in helping ensure food reaches our warehouse and distribution centres efficiently and safely.

Key Details:

• Start time: 10:00 AM (meeting at our warehouse in Peckham)

• Shift length: Approx. 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (some flexibility)

• Available days: Tuesday to Friday (you can choose one or more)

• Commitment: Ideally, we’re looking for someone available regularly for up to 6 months

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assisting with the loading and unloading of food donations

• Supporting the van driver with deliveries and collections across Southwark

• Handling food parcels, crates, and other supplies (some items may weigh up to 20kg)

• Helping maintain a smooth and efficient delivery schedule

What We’re Looking For:

• Physically able to lift and move heavy items

• Reliable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a small team

• A full UK driving licence is a bonus, but not required

• Comfortable representing Southwark Foodbank with professionalism and care

This is a voluntary position, but your time and energy will directly help feed individuals and families facing hardship in our community.
