Supermarket collection volunteer

You’ll understand the importance of supermarket collections in raising awareness of the food bank and be comfortable approaching people, handing them a shopping list and asking for a food donation. You’ll sort donations into trays ready for transport back to the Food Bank Warehouse. Your positive, friendly and enthusiastic approach will help to encourage and maximise food donations for those in crisis in your local community. Food collections are organised through the year at one or other of the supermarkets in Holyhead. Normally collection sessions start at 10 and finish at 4, within which period volunteers can pick a few or all of the hours available. Collections are organised so that there will always be 2 at the stand throughout.
